The Children, staff and governors of Beckermet C of E Primary School are seeking to appoint a part-time Cleaner to join our friendly School community from October working 15 hours per week – 3.00 - 6.00pm Monday - Friday, term time only with one week during summer holidays, please note that there can be some flexibility with these hours.

We are looking for a reliable and hard-working individual to carry out a range of general cleaning duties, helping to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all pupils, staff and visitors

The Governors and Headteacher of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School would like to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled and highly motivated,  Senior Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 2 teaching and learning initiatives as well as focusing and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs. 

Working hours will be from 8.30am until 3.30pm, Monday-Friday and will include behavioural management and supporting positive play at lunchtimes for 30 minutes per day.

Senior Teaching Assistant
To support the class teacher in the delivery of the National Curriculum to our pupils, working in partnership with parents, teachers and the school to establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment in which children make excellent progress. Experience working with primary school aged children is essential.

Main Duties 
• To support individuals and groups to help them learn. 
• To establish an effective and purposeful learning environment in partnership with the teachers and other colleagues. 
• To support teachers in assessing the needs of individual children. 
• To observe, record and feedback information on pupil performance.

Other Key Aspects of the role 
• To assist in creating materials for curriculum delivery and display boards 
• To plan, lead and facilitate group activities 
• To plan and lead one to one teaching and intervention 
• To promote inclusion of all the pupils in the school, including those with physical, learning and behaviour difficulties 
• To assist with behaviour management within and outside the classroom 
• To work with the classroom teachers to implement Individual Education Plans and develop resources for pupils who have: English as a second language, speech or language impairments or behaviour that interferes with learning and relationships 
• To assist pupils’ social development, progress and achievement outside the classroom 
• To take safeguarding seriously and be observant and follow the schools safeguarding policy

Wider School Support
• To supervise pupils in the playground, dining hall when directed. 
• To assist with therapy. Eg: physical, occupational or language 
• To maintain pupil and family confidentiality 
• To attend regular meetings and training as required 
• To communicate and liaise with staff, pupils, parents, governors and other members of the local community as appropriate 
• To be first aid trained (Paediatric Training)

About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils. The role will include:

•    Supporting teachers across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
•    Delivering high-quality general classroom support

•    Using knowledge of systematic synthetic phonics; Read Write Inc. training is desirable

We are looking for someone who:
•    Holds a Level 3 NVQ qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
•    Has relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
•    Has strong literacy and numeracy skills
•    Has a sound knowledge of SEN and a passion for inclusive education
•    Is proactive, resourceful and confident in managing learning tasks and classroom routines
•    Is patient, dynamic, and committed to helping every child thrive
•    Can use initiative and work effectively as part of a team
•    Is willing to undertake further SEND training to meet the needs of our pupils
