The Gillford Centre is a Pupil Referral Unit providing education for pupils aged 5–16. School 180 offers alternative provision and support for pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Both schools are situated in central Carlisle and provide a caring, aspirational learning environment. We also work in partnership with the Home and Hospital Tuition Service.

Safeguarding Information:

We are looking to recruit a permanent Careers and Work Experience Administrator to start in September. This is a new role within school to offer administration support to our Careers Lead. 

15 hours per week, term-time only (+10 days pro rata) – BS4 £24,790 pro rata (pay award pending)

The main responsibilities of the role include maintaining and updating various spreadsheets, putting together communication for parents, ensuring students are aware of careers events (such as open evenings), distributing paperwork, photocopying and liaising with a range of external companies, including local employers, colleges and universities and supporting with the careers interviews administration which happen throughout the year. Organising careers events and work experience placements will also form part of the role.

The successful candidate will be expected to respect the need for confidentiality that exists when working in a school environment. They will be a team player, have a pleasant and efficient manner, and good inter-personal skills. They should be competent in the use of Microsoft Office, whilst having experience of SIMS/Edulink (the school’s information management system), however, training will be available as required.
