School Administrator and Clerk to the LGB - Lorton Primary School

School Administrator Level 2 (20 hrs per week) and Clerk Level 1 (1.5 hrs per week)

Lorton Primary School has a vacancy for a School Administrator to join our friendly, rural school, from 4th November or as soon as possible thereafter.  We are proud of our happy well-behaved children and have supportive parents, a committed Local Governing Body and much community involvement and support.  

We are seeking an organised, calm and approachable person with relevant skills and experience to run our busy school office and play a key part in the smooth running of the school.  

You will need to be able to deal with everything from visitors to the school, finance queries, first aid and jammed paper in the photocopier to answering the phones, following up absence and ordering resources, often simultaneously!

The ideal candidate will need to have:
•    Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and be able to remain calm and professional under pressure
•    Strong ICT, literacy and numeracy skills and the ability to operate relevant databases/ICT applications
•    The ability to work well both as part of a team and independently, using their own initiative and maintaining confidentiality
•    A positive, enthusiastic, flexible and caring approach and willingness to be involved in the life of the school 
•    Good communication skills so that they can relate well to children, staff, parents and the community
•    A good sense of humour and interest in learning new skills.

The Admin post is for 20 hours per week, ideally 8am – 12noon, 5 days a week (there could be some flexibility), plus 1.5 hours per week for the Clerk role (to include attendance at some meetings after school hours).

The post is term time only plus two weeks.  

Admin role: Grade 6 SCP7&8 (BS6) (£25584-25992 pro rata, approx. £13.30-13.50 per hour); Clerk role: Grade 3 SCP3-4 (£24404 pro rata, approx. £12.68)
