Attendance Assistant

Required to start as soon as possible, a suitably qualified and experienced person to support our busy attendance department.

37 hours per week, term-time only (+5 days/Inset days)
PCD 5 - £25,183 per annum , pro rata

Key duties include:
•    Support Attendance Officer with general administration duties
•    Maintain computerised attendance records for all students – based on six session registrations per day
•    Print off class and tutor registers when required, e.g. for supply teachers without a school laptop or for a computer systems failure
•    Ensure there are records available to be used should the Fire Alarm go off
•    Operate, monitor and update the student absence records, contact parents/carers and inform relevant members of staff as appropriate
•    Prepare and analyse pupil attendance and punctuality reviews
•    Support families to improve attendance – conduct home visits/welfare checks with Attendance Officer
•    Take minutes and attend Inclusion and Attendance meetings
•    Attend Parents’ Evenings to promote attendance
•    Attend meetings with local primary schools with the Attendance Officer
•    Liaise with the Local Authority and follow their guidelines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential and a knowledge of SIMS would be advantageous. Full training and support will be provided.

Kitchen Assistant

Part-time – Term Time only (38+1wk)   

Permanent Contract.

12.5 hours a week   Monday-Friday 11.00am to 1.30pm

We are seeking to appoint a Kitchen Assistant to work alongside our school cook.  The role will mainly comprise of assisting our cook with meal preparation, setting out and cleaning away the dining hall furniture, serving food to pupils, assisting with washing up and cleaning after service

The successful applicant
•    will either hold or be willing to undertake relevant food handling training and any other qualifications relevant to the post.
•    should be able to work as part of a team and be friendly and approachable 

•    is highly motivated with lots of energy, while being flexible, adaptable and able to use their own initiative

•    has an excellent attendance record

Please be aware that we are rural school west of Carlisle and sadly there is no public bus service therefore applicants need to have a reliable source of transport to be able to get to and from work each day.

The job is Term Time only with an additional week allocated to allow for school holiday deep cleans (split over the school year).  All holidays need to be taken within the school closure periods.
