About this opportunity
The Cumberland Youth Connect Team is looking to recruit a Senior Child Exploitation Intervention Worker to provide a range of interventions and support to children and young people who are at risk of and are victims of child exploitation (the term child exploitation now includes all forms of exploitation including sexual and criminal).
You will work as part of an integrated team, working with multi-agency teams to ensure all professionals working with children, who are at risk of and are victims of child exploitation understand child exploitation.
You will manage the most complex cases within the service and lead on the planning of interventions to support the child in exiting exploitation and staying safe; help identify perpetrators using intelligence gathering, whilst maintaining a therapeutic relationship with young people who are exploited by adults; and support the completion of return home interviews with young people who go missing and who are at risk of child exploitation.
You will contribute to the development of consistent policy, practice and procedure guidance and support the team manager in the development of services, best practice and delivery of training. You will also be responsible for facilitating and leading on group supervision and offering supervision to staff within the team.
You will lead on the coordination of missing children, gathering information and data and supporting the wider service area with effective safety planning.
The successful candidate will hold a caseload of families and individuals who are at risk of or victims of child exploitation, working to support the children and their families.
The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of Early Help, Children’s Social Care and Signs of Safety, including knowledge of thresholds for safeguarding and making appropriate referrals as needed. They will be proactive and caring in their approach to supporting vulnerable people and can travel independently across the region, including at times to rural settings.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team of multi-disciplinary individuals in support of vulnerable individuals and families.
