About this opportunity

 

Cumberland Council are looking to recruit 4 x Education Health and Care Plan Coordinators. Join our dynamic SEND Team, dedicated to supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve their full potential.

As part of our statutory responsibilities, the team coordinates and manages the assessment process, develops tailored Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and ensures that support and provisions detailed in the EHCP are implemented by schools and settings in order to meet the evolving needs of children, young people, and their families.

In this pivotal role, you will:

 

  • Coordinate and manage the statutory assessment process for identified children and young people with SEND.
  • Develop clear and effective EHCPs by gathering input from a range of professionals and services.
  • Ensure statutory timelines and legal requirements are met.
  • Act as the main point of contact for parents, carers, schools and professionals.
  • Monitor and review EHCPs to ensure provision remains appropriate, compliance with statutory guidance and the efficient use of resources.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health and social care partners.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and casework systems.

 

These roles are available on a permanent basis.

Enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.
