Teacher Required From September 2026.

Year 4 class teacher required for 1st September 2026. Full-time/ temporary for 1 year (covering for absence).

The Governors of St Begh’s Catholic Junior School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and capable teacher to join our friendly, committed and experienced team. Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply.

Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant 
(Part-Time pro rata– 15 Hours per Week for 1 Year. September 2026- August 2027).
This post is Temporary for 1 year fixed term 31st August 2027 due to funding for EHCP children. 

Part-Time, Fixed Term. Pro rata Term time only. 
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday 08.30-11.30am (15 hours per week)

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team to provide targeted support for a child with additional needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the child access learning, develop independence, and thrive within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
•    Provide 1:1 support for a child with additional needs within the classroom.
•    Adapt activities and resources to support the child’s learning and engagement.
•    Encourage the child’s social, emotional, and communication development.
•    Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals.
•    Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
•    Monitor and record the child’s progress as directed by the teacher.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
•    Have previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly supporting children with additional needs.
•    Be patient, caring, and committed to supporting children to reach their full potential.
•    Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
•    Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
•    Have a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Essential Requirements
•    Experience supporting children with additional needs in an educational setting.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Desirable
•    Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or SEND.
•    Experience supporting children with specific needs such as autism, speech and language difficulties, or social and emotional needs.
