Administration Supervisor

We are seeking to appoint a full-time Administration Supervisor to join our established team of administrative staff.  This is an exciting opportunity to assist with the coordination and development of the school office school, previous school experience is preferable but not essential.

Salary:         £28598 - £29540 pa
Grade:          BS7, NJC 12/14
Hours:          37 hours per week, full year
Term:            Permanent

The Supervisor will perform a number of functions including:
•    Working with the School Business Manager to coordinate the work of our Administration Team.
•    Take a lead role in the planning, development and organisation of support systems and procedures.
•    Help maintain the content of the school website.
•    Take a lead role in the development and maintenance of records and information systems.
•    Perform line management functions within the Administration Team including performance management, recruitment and training.

This is a busy but fulfilling role leading a friendly team to ensure the smooth operation of the administration of the school.

About this opportunity

 

  • To provide services of a technical or specialist nature on behalf of the Council across the west and south of the Cumberland administrative area.
  • The technical officer will provide a specialist technical and case management role that includes inspection and assessment of properties to facilitate Disabled Facilities Grants where grant applications have been received and meet the requirements of the Occupations Therapist’s recommendations
  • The role will be responsible for preparing a costed schedule of works, specifying items to be grant aided and liaise with contractors on behalf of customers where requested.
  • This post holder will take the lead role in facilitating regular meetings with key stakeholders, have over-sight of works and meet with contractors to monitor and manage performance and quality of works that are being undertaken by the Contractor.
  • The post holder will take responsibility for signing off completed works and prepare paperwork to enable the budget holder to approve and authorise payments.

Cumberland Environmental Health ensures that peoples living and working environments are

safe, healthy, hygienic and that consumers are protected. The service provides a wide range of

regulatory activities including private sector housing, air quality, animal licensing, environmental protection and nuisance control, health and safety, food safety, infectious disease control, private water sampling, port health and public health licensing.

 

The service focuses on prevention, consultation, investigation, education and, where required,

enforcement.

 

This role will focus on private sector housing.

Purpose of role

  • To provide technical advice to residents, landlords, Elected Members and senior officers on environmental health in the specialist area of private sector housing.
  • To investigate housing complaints using the Housing, Health and Safety Rating System and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation (MEES, Electrical Safety Standards etc).
  • To ensure the case management system is kept up to date and holds all relevant information related to individual cases.
  • To lead on the licensing of Houses of Multiple Occupation (HMOS)
  • To lead on any enforcement required under the Housing Act 2004, liaising with the council’s legal department where appropriate, in line with the Cumberland Enforcement Policy.
  • Where appropriate, to investigate criminal offences and noncompliance with a view to reporting for formal action.
