We are seeking to appoint a full-time Head of Social Sciences.  You should be a dynamic, well-qualified, organised and committed Teacher of Psychology who is ready for leadership and has the skills to be responsible for driving academic progress.  The successful candidate will oversee the teaching of Psychology, Criminology and Health and Social Care.

You will be expected to demonstrate a proven track-record of exceptional outcomes, high-quality teaching and the ability to inspire both staff and students with your passion for the Social Sciences.

Psychology is a popular subject at Caldew.  We offer both GCSE and A Level and currently have two teaching classes in both Year 12 and 13.  Other Social Sciences offered are, Health and Social Care at KS4 and KS5 and Criminology at KS5.  As a Middle Leader in the school, this role attracts a TLR 2b.

Senior Teaching Assistant

We are seeking to recruit a Senior Teaching Assistant to provide 1: 1 and small group support in classes for students with a Special Education Need or Disability.  You need to have good literacy and numeracy skills and a relevant NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification; appropriate experience as a Teaching Assistant would be preferred.   To strengthen our existing team, experience in supporting students with a visual impairment would be beneficial.  This is a part time term time only post and we have a small number of positions available.
