Stanwix School is seeking to appoint a dedicated, ambitious, and values-driven Deputy Head Teacher to join our friendly and inclusive school community. This is a full-time position, with responsibility for acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), alongside leading whole-school strategy for attendance, disadvantaged pupils, and behaviour, ensuring high standards and improved outcomes for all. There will be a part time teaching commitment attached to this post.

The Role
As Deputy Head Teacher, you will play a central role in the leadership of the school. You will:
•    Lead on attendance, behaviour, and safeguarding, with a strong focus on improving outcomes for disadvantaged pupils 
•    Drive school improvement priorities, particularly in teaching and learning culture 
•    Oversee day-to-day operations, including staffing and organisation 
•    Champion staff wellbeing while maintaining high expectations 
•    Develop and enhance provision beyond the classroom, including lunchtimes 
•    Contribute to strategic leadership and long-term planning 
•    Build leadership capacity for future growth

Early Language and Literacy Specialists are seconded one or two days per week from their home school, with the full support of their headteacher, to work in partnership with schools supported by the English Hub. They are central to the Hub’s offer and work collaboratively with school leaders and teachers to strengthen early literacy provision.

This role includes:
· Supporting high-quality early language development
· Strengthening Reception literacy practice, including handwriting and composition
· Supporting effective implementation of the DfE Writing Framework
· Providing coaching, modelling and professional development
· Contributing to evaluation, action planning and sustained improvement

Orgill English Hub is seeking to appoint talented and committed teachers or leaders with significant experience in improving reading outcomes in Key Stage 3.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have successfully supported pupils who did not meet the expected standard in reading at the end of Key Stage 2 and who have led strategies to strengthen reading fluency, disciplinary literacy and reading for pleasure within a secondary context.

Key Stage 3 Literacy Specialists are seconded one or two days per week from their home school, with the full support of their headteacher, to work alongside partner schools supported by the English Hub. They are integral to the Hub’s expanded offer and work closely with senior leaders, subject leaders and classroom teachers to embed a coherent, whole-school approach to reading.

The role includes:
· Supporting reading catch-up and intervention for struggling readers
· Developing fluency and comprehension strategies across subjects
· Strengthening disciplinary literacy and curriculum reading
· Coaching staff and building leadership capacity
· Supporting strategic planning, evaluation and sustainable improvement

This is an exciting opportunity within the Campus Whitehaven community. The post is based in the purpose-built site.  Hours of work will vary on a rota (including evenings and one in four weekends).

The successful candidate will be a practical person, able to assist in undertaking repair and maintenance tasks and will join a small team of assistant site managers, responsible for the smooth running of the campus.

Cover Supervisors take responsibility for managing classes during short-term teacher absence.
