We are looking to appoint a dynamic boys PE teacher with the potential to excel, to join a committed and successful department. We are a young, lively and friendly team who work closely together in a very supportive environment.  Each member contributes to the development of the department by sharing responsibilities.  We believe in working collaboratively and sharing best practice at every opportunity.

We teach OCR AS and A2 Physical Education as well as GCSE and BTEC PE.  We also value the role of leadership and pupils are given opportunities to study PE Life Skills Award at Key Stage 4.

We have a proven track record for extracurricular activities; they include, hockey, netball, football, cricket, rugby, athletics, cross country, table tennis and badminton.  All members of the department contribute fully to extra-curricular clubs and teams.

The post is suitable for an ECT as well as experienced teachers and offers and excellent opportunity to receive support through the school’s comprehensive ECT and CPD programme.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with relevant experience and a high level of personal drive and energy who will improve attendance of our pupils. This role will work to raise student attainment and achievement by improving student attendance. You will work to reduce persistent absence and promote positive engagement with education by pupils and families.

The successful candidate will contribute to raising achievement through improving school attendance, liaise with the Headteacher and senior leaders to rapidly improve school attendance, deal with staff, students, parents and external agencies in relation to attendance and have the ability to accurately record, collate and analyse attendance data. Strong interpersonal skills are required to promote a positive attitude towards attendance and to ensure that parents are aware of their statutory responsibilities. You will be required to meet with parents and students in relation to attendance.

You will work within the Early Help framework developing attendance action plans with children and families, utilising the legal framework to ensure parents and carers are held to account if improvements are not made in a timely manner. You will be required to make unsupervised home visits and attend meetings both at school and off site.

You will be a team player who is highly motivated and organised with the ability to multitask. You will be a great communicator who is passionate about building positive relationships with children, their families, and external agencies. An effective problem solver, you will come up with positive and robust solutions to problems.
