PE Technician and Administrative Support

Required from April 2024, a flexible, enthusiastic, and motivated person to join our highly successful PE department to act as Technician and Administrative Support. The post will involve a range of duties in support of the work of the department, including the organisation and setting up of equipment, management of team kits, and departmental administration.

Part-time (4 days/27 ½ hours per week) term time only – flexible distribution of hours through the school week. 

PE Technician and Administrative Support – core duties:
•    Check equipment and stores in readiness for the teaching required in the week ahead
•    Maintain and organise of team kit, making sure it is cleaned and available when required
•    Maintain and (if possible) repair equipment ready for service
•    Administer departmental fixture requirements 
•    Maintain and update first aid bags in readiness for ‘grab and go’ at fixtures
•    Organise and administer borrowed kit, ensuring it is returned, washed and ready for service
•    Set up and organise seasonal change overs of equipment, managing stores as per the games programme
•    Clean fitness equipment in the Fitness Suite
•    Update and maintain notice boards/ PE documentation 
•    Assist in the organisation and preparation for Awards Evening and Sports Days and Inter-House competitions
•    Support in the organisation of classroom-based equipment (including photocopying) for effective theory teaching
•    Support teachers with data entry in accordance with the school’s assessment and reporting schedule
•    Help out with extra-curricular provision wherever possible 
•    Undertake any other tasks which may be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined

•    the role is non-class based although there will be some intervention group teaching. The SENCO has a key role within our Emotional Well-Being Team – liaising with parents and the Family Support Worker. Liaising with incoming parents and other settings is a key part of the role

•    The role also includes responsibilities for safeguarding as DDSL. There would be the expectation to work collaboratively with families and external agencies to support to best outcomes for the children at our school
