We are looking for a Key Stage One to start in September 2026. We are a growing school and require more staff to add to our amazing and successful team. The new staff member will work with us on a part-time basis at 0.5 or 0.6, this will be flexible for the right candidate. This post is initially fixed-term but may become permanent if school numbers continue to increase.

•    Qualified teacher with QTS
•    Teacher who is keen to work as part of a team and share ideas and good practice
•    Has experience in Read, Write Inc and White Rose Maths
•    Would be willing to lead a subject area within school
•    A passion for raising the achievement of all children
•    Have high expectations of pupil achievement and behavior 
•    Be effective communicators with staff, parents and children
•    Provide and maintain a stimulating classroom environment that promotes children’s learning
•    Be willing to contribute to our programme of extra-curricular activities

SEND Teaching Assistant

Temporary SEND Teaching Assistant Post

Post: 31.25 hours per week (8:45am – 3:30pm Monday-Friday)

PCD5 £25, 989 per annum pro rata (FTE 37hpw) term time only plus 1 week INSET

The Governors of Burgh by Sands School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our thriving school.  The successful applicant will work 5 days per week, Monday to Friday 8.45am to 3.30pm (term time, plus 5 INSET days).  This role is predominantly to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP in Key Stage 1. The child will require full time support within the classroom, dining hall and during break times outside.  Part of the week will also involve supporting groups and individual pupils with EHCPs across Key Stage 2.

This is a fixed term position linked to the needs of specific pupils with an EHCP and the continuation of associated funding.

We are looking for a highly motivated Teaching Assistant who has:
• Experience supporting children with a range of abilities and additional needs
• A genuine passion for working with children
• An understanding of communication difficulties and sensory/regulation needs
• The ability to use effective communication strategies to support engagement and independence
• Initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A caring, patient, proactive and resilient approach
• High expectations of learning and behaviour
• Strong communication skills with staff, parents and external professionals
• A commitment to continued professional development
• An NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) and GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (or equivalent)
