As Key Stage 1 Leader and Reading Leader, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of our younger learners. You will be responsible for leading and inspiring a team of teachers and supporting staff in the Key Stage 1 phase, ensuring that every child receives a high-quality education that promotes their academic, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to implement strategies that drive improvement in reading across the school.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead, manage, and motivate the Key Stage 1 team to deliver excellent teaching and learning outcomes.
•    Take responsibility for leading phonics and early reading.
•    Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement curriculum strategies and initiatives.
•    Monitor and evaluate the progress and achievement of pupils in Key Stage 1, ensuring effective interventions and support are in place.
•    Create and maintain an engaging and inclusive classroom environment where all students can thrive.
•    Lead professional development through coaching and monitoring of phonics.
•    Develop positive relationships with parents, carers, and the wider school community.
•    Lead CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for staff within the Key Stage 1 team.
•    Contribute to whole-school initiatives and promote the school’s values.
Key Requirements:
•    Qualified teacher status (QTS) and a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
•    Significant experience and a passion for phonics and early reading development.
•    Previous leadership experience or a strong desire to take on a leadership role.
•    A passion for working with young children and supporting their academic and personal development.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.

Main Purpose:   To supervise the provision of the breakfast and after school club service for pupils between the age of 3 – 11.  To coordinate all activities within a safe and stimulating environment, in accordance with the club/and or school policies.

Responsibilities/Duties    

•    Develop understanding of health issues such as healthy eating, fitness and exercise
•    Provide and supervise safe play activities for pupils
•    Carry out day-to-day administration including registers, ordering and purchasing of equipment and food, record keeping as appropriate
•    To record and inform parents of any incident or accident relating to their children that has occurred during the session
•    Liaise with school staff as required
•    Undertake relevant training.
•    To set up and clear away equipment
•    Carry out all responsibilities and activities within an equal opportunity framework
•    To ensure that school security regulations are upheld
•    To provide support to children including first aid duties (dependant upon training)
•    To undertake such duties commensurate with the grade to ensure the successful running of the scheme

The post holder has a responsibility to promote and safeguard the safety and welfare of children in accordance with the school's child protection and behaviour management policy.

Whilst the school hours are set, it is inevitable that other duties will be required from time to time.
