Teaching Assistant

Salary: PCD5 £23,893 per annum pro rata term time only 

Required from January 2025 or sooner

This post is fixed term until July 2025 due to specific funding.

Working days and hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm with 30 minutes lunch break (19.5 hours per week)

The successful candidate will: 
• Be committed to inclusive practice and meeting the wide range of needs in our school.
• Have high expectations and demonstrate a commitment to raising standards and achieving the best for all of our children
• Work with 1:1, small groups and whole class where appropriate
• Be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed team member and fully prepared to become involved in the wider life of the school
• Show evidence of excellent classroom practice and behaviour management skills
• Be able to attend some staff meetings and training sessions
• Be able to form successful relationships with parents, colleagues and the wider community.
• Hold NVQ2 or 3 or equivalent
• Be an excellent communicator
• Work well independently and as part of a team
• Have good knowledge of KS1 and or the EYFS

The Role:
As the Year 4 Class Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in line with the National Curriculum.

- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using this information to inform your teaching.
As the SENDCo, you will:
- Lead and manage the provision for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities across the school.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure tailored support for pupils with additional needs.
- Oversee the development and implementation of Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and ensure the best outcomes for SEND pupils.

What We Are Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- SENDCo qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Proven experience in teaching Key Stage 2.
- Experience or knowledge of supporting pupils with SEND.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive school ethos.
