The Beacon Museum in Whitehaven is kicking off 2026 with a refreshed programme that brings together reflection, creativity and community.

Cumberland Council and Westmorland and Furness Council have launched the Cumbria Digital Infrastructure Strategy 2026–2030, building on the success of the previous 2020-2025 strategy, setting out a bold plan to deliver world-class digital connectivity and support Cumbria’s £12bn economy.

This January, Cumbria Fostering is launching a county-wide initiative to challenge the misconceptions that prevent potential carers from stepping forward.
