Cumberland Council will be carrying out essential resurfacing works on Dalston Road, Carlisle, starting Monday 3 November 2025 for ten nights.

Thousands of people ate, drank, danced and enjoyed a weekend of family fun at the second Taste Cumbria festival in Carlisle. Held in the Cathedral grounds and the newly-transformed Greenmarket, the event saw nearly 50 producers selling their wares, with lots of local performers also appearing on the music stage.

A new programme that aims to reach 3,000 people across Cumbria with employment support has passed another important milestone. The Cumbria Connect to Work programme has confirmed the appointment of a Service Co-ordinator for a contract worth nearly £10m for up to five years starting in early 2026.
