Cumberland Council will be carrying out essential maintenance works on Durranhill Viaduct which are scheduled to begin in early January 2026. The structure carries the C1045 (Eastern Way), which links Warwick Road (A69) and London Road (A6), over Durranhill Road and the Carlisle–Settle and Carlisle–Newcastle railway lines.

The final Taste Cumbria event of 2025 saw thousands of people brave some typical Cumbrian weather for a festival full of smiles and good cheer.
